WITHINGTON'S Dominic Lancett has become the first schoolboy to win back-to-back British Schoolboy Motorcycle Association finals on a small wheels 85cc machine.

Lancett competed in the final of the BSMA Schoolboy Championship at Shrawley, Shropshire where he retained the title he won in 2013.

Lancett competed in five races with 30 riders from across the UK over the two-day meet, winning all five races from poor starts, but excelled with smooth and technically faultless riding taking maximum points.

The 12-year-old, who attends The Bishop of Hereford's Bluecoat School, said: “I’d like to thank my trainer Justin Morris, my sponsors Dual Sport Motorcycles from Ledbury for preparing my bike, Oner Racing for graphics and kit, but most importantly my mum, dad and brother for supporting me and helping me in my five years of racing.

"It was a brilliant track and a really well run meeting.”

Dominic races next week in the last round of the Bridgestone National Championships, taking place in Pen-y-bont, Wales.
