TWENTY-one-year-old aspiring racer Ben Davis from Much Marcle is making his car racing debut in the high-profile Michelin Clio Cup Series at Snetterton circuit on August 30/31 with Finesse Motorsport Ltd.

The series utilises the popular Renault Clio Cup Race Car which is raced all over the world and is renowned for being the perfect stepping stone to top level saloon series such as the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), a path that another successful county ace, Lea Wood, has followed.

Davis has been successful in the fast-paced 140mph MSA British Superkart Championship and now looks to progress his career into cars.

During the first half of 2014, he completed a law degree and has also done some testing with Finesse Motorsport Ltd showing very promising front-running pace from the outset.

“I am delighted to have welcomed TECS Distribution Ltd on-board as title sponsor for the event," said Davis.

"I have to thank them for believing in me and I hope to have a successful debut weekend against some seriously tough opposition in a very competitive championship.

"To be racing in such a high-profile series and against ex touring car drivers is a great step in my racing career.”

The race on Saturday,August 30 is being broadcast LIVE on Motors TV (Sky 447 or Freeview 240) and Davis will be in action starting at 15:10.
