HEREFORDSHIRE beat their near neighbours Worcestershire at Ledbury in a high-scoring match by 132-115.

Herefordshire won on three rinks, were defeated on two and the remaining rink finished level.

The home team's highest winning rink was well skipped by Clive Hanscombe, with Jimmy Lindsay in fine form at lead being well backed by Dave Hall at

second with Terry Knight in his usual top form at third.

They outplayed the visitors to lead 19-4 after 11 ends and were never in trouble, finally winning by 32-11.

President Dave Holloway's rink led 16-10 after 11 ends and the visitors scored only three more shots in the remaining 10 ends against Herefordshire's 13

for a 29-13 victory.

The rink skipped by Don Pugh led 16-12 after 15 ends and scored a further nine shots against four for a fine 25-16 success. Tom Holmes had an excellent

match together with John Bevan at the front-end, and Mike Holmes gave fine support to his skip who was in top form.

Ron Perry's rink was down 19-15 after 16 ends, but they fought back very well, scoring six shots against two to finish level at 21-21, while John Colley's

rink was down 19-7 after 13 ends, but scored 11 shots before losing four singles to finish 23-18 down.

The highest defeat was suffered by the rink skipped by Mike Charles and won only six ends in a defeat by 31-7.
