ROSS-on-Wye based rider and showing producer Claire Fitch has won a prestigious showing championship class at Hickstead’s Longines Royal International Horse Show.
Fitch won the Pure Bred Ridden Arabian class riding Patros HB, who was also crowned Supreme Ridden Arabian Horse of the Year in 2012.
The stallion is owned by Mr and Mrs Warner of Barley Hill Arabians, and Fitch has produced and shown the horse on their behalf.
The six-day horse show is one of the oldest and most prestigious competitions in the calendar, and also hosts a leg of the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ Series.
Lucy Pincus from Sheepcote equestrian centre, Bartestree took part in her first international dressage competition and won first prize in the junior section of the Hickstead international dressage show.
Hickstead is considered one of the premier shows in the world with competitions from juniors and up to senior-level grand prix.
Lucy, a student at the Herefordshire College of Technology, was riding her home-bred Sheepcote Don Calisto, a horse she has been riding since he was a four-year-old .
