FORMER Greyhound prop Laura Keates scored a try as England made it two wins from two in Pool A at the Women's Rugby World Cup in France by beating Spain 45-5.
Keates, a hafl-time replacement, crossed for her try - England's third score - early in the second period after good work from the pack.
England are next in action on Saturday when they take on Canada.
Summer fair
HEREFORD Rugby Club are beginning the countdown to the new season in earnest with a rugby fair at Wyeside.
The event, which will have as its centre-piece a match between Hereford and a team from organisers #rugbyunited, will feature a bouncy castle, face painting and other attractions.
There will also be a raffle and a silent auction to raise funds for charities Rugby for Heroes and The Matt Hampson Foundation.
The match kicks off at 4pm and will be followed by a barbecue.
Charity match
HEREFORD'S Western Power are staging a charity football match at Hereford Academy on Saturday at noon to raise funds for the MIdlands Air Ambulance.
Under-21 league
THE Herefordshire Football Association are looking to set up an under-21 league starting in late September.
Interested clubs should contact the HFA with their entry fee of £50 before next Tuesday, August 12.
"It is proposed that we only have games on two nominated days a week, which makes it easier for clubs to organise and make sure players are available," said HFA football strategy manager Roger Goodwin.
Season opener
THE Hereford Times Herefordshire League season gets underway next Wednesday when Ewyas Harold take on Wellington Reserves in the HFL Shield Final at Westfields' allpay.park stadium, kick-off 7.30pm.
