AN unbeaten century by Edward Symonds underlined Burghill & Tillington's promotion challenge in Division Two of the Worcestershire League.

The former Herefordshire all-rounder stroked 111 not out as the villagers cruised to a 134-run win over visiting Feckenham.

Ed Oliver (62) helped to build Burghill's impressive total of 277-6 before in-form Ben George (7-54) and New Zealander Stefan Hook (2-15) played the principal roles in bowling out Feckenham for 143.

Burghill now lead the Division Two table by 30 points and, crucially, are 65 points clear of third-placed Worcester Dominies.

Wormelow's Australian overseas player Jamie Banfield put on a good show for his parents Grant and Stephanie who were visiting Herefordshire from Down Under.

The all-rounder's unbeaten 80, in a second-wicket stand of 124 with Tim Boulter (70), was pivotal as the villagers cruised to an eight-wicket win over visiting Lye.

Bromyard are staging a late revival as they bid to hold on to their Division One place.

Skipper Ashley Bullock scored 100 as the Flaggoners Green club had much the better of a winning draw with Droitwich.

Colwall just managed to hold on for a losing draw against high-flying Worcester Nomads.

Nomads put together 261-5 and Colwall were left on 109-9 when the overs ran out.

Skipper Seb Warwick top-scored with 39 for Ross in Division 3 but the south Herefordshire side's total of 143 never looked enough against promotion-hopefuls Netherton who eased to an eight-wicket win.
