MARDONIANS, a team based at the Cross Keys, Withington, formed many years ago by skittles enthusiast the late Bert Pitt, are this year's winners of the Leominster Rankin Club Invitation 6-aside competition.
In a keenly contested final against local side "See You", they led by four pins after four legs, but a 44 and a fantastic last leg of 62 left their opponents needing a challenging 111 to win.
Mardonians ran out winners by 25 pins.
The eight man squad pictured (L to R) are: Dave Morris, Garth Lawson, Kingsley Lawson, captain Colin Walters, Hedley Lawson, Ray Farmer, Phil Price and Dave Sawkins.
