FORMER Hereford United kit-man Roger Lloyd has joined the back room staff at Westfields.

Lloyd left Edgar Street earlier this month after not being offered a contract.

But he has now made the short journey to Westfields.

"When he heard Roger had left Edgar Street, we made an approach for his services as we are in need of a reliable kit-man and he was pleased to join us," said Westfields chief executive Andrew Morris.

"He will take up his duties with our first-team management tonight (Thursday) with our first home game against Worcester City.

"Roger is an experienced kit-man and will play an important role in the club.

"We are delighted Roger is joining us."

Westfields go into the Worcester game on the back of a 1-1 against Hellenic League side Lydney Town.

Sean Edwards' team featured Alex Winstone, who has re-joined the club from Presteigne, and Dean Lee from Monmouth Town.

Lydney, meanwhile, had former Westfields' players Richard Kear and Jamie Addis amongst their ranks.

Westfields fell behind to a goal set up by Kear, but hit back when Dan Polan smashed home a cross from Carl Morgan.

Following tonight's game, Westfields travel to Welsh Premier League side Haverfordwest on Saturday before facing Rhayader Town on Tuesday in the Dennis Hartland Trophy.

A late strike from Asten Griffiths saw Ledbury draw 3-3 against Quedgeley Wanderers in a dramatic game at New Street.

Jason Kennedy and Joe Bates grabbed Ledbury's other goals.

The West Midlands Regional League Division One side entertain Cheltenham Town on Saturday before facing Kington on Wednesday.
