ROWER Charlotte Hodgkins-Byrne enjoyed jubilee success at the Henley Royal Regatta/.
She rowed for Gloucester Hartpury and won the Diamond Jubilee Challenge Cup for junior women.
Proud Mum Kathryn said: “There was a little bit of drama in their early pr- paddle when an incident with a power boat smashed their blades but this did not deter Charlotte and her crew from a convincing win over the favourites, Marlow.”
Charlotte’s sister Mathilda raced in a GB composite under 23 crew and reached the finals of the Princess Grace Challenge Cup.
“The senior GB squad and gave the Olympians a run for their money with the word on the ground that these girls are future rising stars to watch out for,” said Kathryn.
After the excitement it was an early night in preparation for Charlotte's finals trials for Junior GB selection and, for Mathilda, a senior GB training camp.
