BROMYARD are beginning to lose touch at the foot of the Worcestershire County League Division One table after going down by four wickets to Worcester.

The Flaggoners Green club were dismissed for 175, with opener Ashley Bullock top-scoring on 64.

But the visitors eased home by four wickets with former Eastnor all-rounder Mohammed Adeel leading the way with an unbeaten 42 to leave Bromyard 23 points short of safety.

As it stands, Bromyard could be replaced in the top flight next season by Burghill & Tillington who have moved a point clear at the top of Division Two after a single-wicket success at home to Worcester Dominies.

The visitors' 230-9 looked as if it might be enough when the ninth Burghill wicket went down, but last pair James Burston (six not out) and Will Treloar (seven not out) guided the home side to victory.

Wormelow looked set for a big score when Jamie Banfield (68) and skipper Ben Owens posted 150 for the first wicket at Bewdley.

But the later batting subsided and their total of 202-8 posed an insufficient challenge for the division's second-placed team with Simon Mauger compiling an unbeaten 102.

Seb Warwick's 108 proved in vain for Ross who were beaten by five wickets by Bredon in Division 3.

And there was a rare reverse for Division Four leaders Bartestree & Lugwardine who went down by 79 runs at Kidderminster Victoria, despite Matt Aubrey's 78.
