COLWALL have moved to the top of Division One of the Worcestershire County League after a narrow two-wicket success over Pedmore.
An excellent all-round performance from South African Wehan Joubert was instrumental in the Malvern Hills club's success.
The spinner snared 6-56 as, assisted by Max Backhouse (3-50), he played the major role in bowling Pedmore out for 227.
And then, with Colwall on the brink at 107-7, his 47 helped to stabilise the innings.
There was still work to do when he was dismissed at 178-8 but Frederick Coleman (48 not out) and Jon Gooch (19 not out) guided Colwall home.
Bromyard continue to struggle at the wrong end of the table after a 21-run defeat at home to Redditch, despite a haul of 5-78 from Ahmed Jamal and 71 from Ash Bullock.
Burghill & Tillington continue to occupy second place in Division Two after Ben George (6-39) bowled them to success at home to Rushwick, who were shot out for 124.
Mark Preece (54) then guided the villagers to an eight-wicket victory.
Wormelow have slipped to eighth in the table after an eight-wicket reverse against Worcester Dominies.
Jack Evans lashed nine fours and five sixes in an unbeaten 129 as Ross enjoyed a high-scoring win over Alveley.
Evans and James Tiffen (89) shared an opening stand of 172 before Harry King lashed 59 from 21 balls to take Ross to an impressive 331-3.
Tiffen followed up with 4-85 as Alveley were out for 273.
In-form Nick Frith blasted a second century in successive innings as he hammered 139 for Division Four leaders Bartestree & Lugwardine in a wining draw at Bromsgrove 3rd.
Frith smashed 19 fours and seven sixes in his highest-ever score.
