THE chief executive officer of Grays Athletic, Joel Nathan, has been assessing the situation at Hereford United this week.

“Tommy Agombar is a personal friend and he asked me to come to Hereford United and have a look at the club,” said Nathan yesterday (Wednesday).

“I have been to Hereford United for a couple of days and my remit is to have a look at the club and to re - port back to Tommy.

“Tommy wants football to be played at the club next season and he didn’t know the full extent of the prob - lems when he took over.”

Nathan, who is a Tottenham Hotspur supporter, said he understood the concerns of the Hereford United fans.

“I have been around the city and I know how much Hereford United means to the fans and there is a lot of anger being posted on the fans’ forums,” he said.

Nathan is heavily involved with Grays, with whom Hereford United will play a friendly at Edgar Street on July 19.

United will be facing the 1st Battalion The Rifles to raise money for Help for Heroes on July 5 and then hosting Cardiff City in a friendly on July 12
