SI Cox of NFTO was the winner of Hereford Wheelers evening 10 series time trial as the club marked National Bike Week with three events.

With 50 riders taking part, Si Cox led the field home in 22min48secs from Greg Wisniowski of Hereford Tri Club with a personal best time of 22:52.

Mark Sims of Climb on Bikes was third in 23:04.

The woman’s race was won by Kylie Mansfield of Hereford Tri Club in 26:05 from Sally Field (Wheelers) in 26:44 with club-mate Katie Price third in 26:47.

Wheelers' annual Come and Try It 10 mile Challenge ride at Allensmore attracted 45 riders despite the clash with the England v Uruguay football game.

All the riders achieved a ride under the hour with the fastest rider being Matthew Young with a time of 25:15, second was Luke Eversham in 26:04 and in third place was Graham Skelhorn in 26:28.

The first female was 17 year old Lydia Stratford in 32:43.

Last Sunday Wheeler Maurice Tudor organised three Audax events of 55k, 100k and 200k starting and finishing at Hereford Leisure Centre.

These are challenge rides to be done within a set time and riders have to either answer questions or have their route card signed to prove that the have completed the full route. On a glorious day nearly 50 riders took part in the Audax events with the largest group in the 100k event and the event was thoroughly enjoyed by all that took part.

Tonight’s event in the 10th in the Evening 10 series takes place on the Allensmore circuit starting at 6.30.
