PEGASUS Juniors have cancelled their proposed friendly with Hereford United.

Club spokesman Chris Wells said Pegasus had ‘received a number of complaints from members and sponsors’ about Saturday’s match.

A statement to the Hereford Times reads: “Hereford United FC vs Pegasus Juniors FC

“The arrangements for the game on Saturday between the above were commenced whilst Hereford United were a member of the Football Conference.

“This was designed to help establish the new regime form their playing squad for the forthcoming season. The circumstances have since changed.

“The Pegasus Juniors FC has received a number of complaints from members and sponsors.

“The directors have discussed the above match and decided they will not be playing Hereford United on Saturday as arranged.

“It is considered to be too soon to be playing the club whilst there is so much negativity around the city and apparent instability that surrounds it.

“The club has contacted Mark Ellis, the new director of football, at Edgar Street to advise him of the decision. He understands the dilemma of the club.”
