BROTHERS Owen and Barney Morgan starred as Burghill & Tillington cruised to the top of the Worcestershire League Division Two.

Owen (110 not out) and Barney (78) were both in the runs as the villagers won by 163 runs against Malvern in one of only four matches in the entire league to beat the weather.

Visiting Malvern took early advantage of winning the toss by quickly dismissing Ed Oliver and Edward Symonds.

But the Morgan brothers moved the score on and with Tim Walsh also contributing 56 and Mark Preece and unbeaten 28, the home side were able to declare after 47 overs with their score on 313-5.

When Malvern replied, Walsh swiftly effected a run out to send back Rhys Humm.

But skipper Andy Cullen compiled 41 to keep alive his side's hopes of avoiding defeat.

But off-spinner Ben George (4-45), with support from Barney Morgan (2-30), Jack Stockdale (1-10) and Stefan Hook (1-27) chipped away with regular wickets as Malvern were eventually all out for 150.

Burghill & Tillington, who have won four of their seven matches, have now moved a point clear of Oldswinford and Stourport Social at the top of the table.
