LIFE-LONG Hereford United supporter Martin Watson admits the club are running out of time.

Watson is the vice-chairman of Hereford United Supporters Trust (HUST) and says the group gave their wishes this week to new club owner Tommy Agombar.

Watson said: “We understand that no payments have been made today to Hereford United’s football creditors but we have not really been kept in the loop.

“The Trust chairman, Chris Williams, met the new owner this week and told him the wishes of the organisation.”

The cash-strapped club have been warned they must pay their football creditors in full by 5pm tonight (Thursday) or face expulsion from the Football Conference.

Some of United’s staff had been assured by the club they would be paid outstanding wages before 3pm today – but the money has not arrived.

Watson said: “I not exactly sure what we can do now – it has gone too far. The Conference have a history of enforcing the rules, although they have not always been consistent.”

Football Conference general manager Dennis Strudwick said: “Hereford United must settle their debts with football creditors by 5pm on Thursday – and the club are well aware what they need to do. The club have known this since May 14.”

“We will also need a budget which must be compelling and detail that the club will not only meet their requirements for next season but how they will deal with the current debt, including an impending winding-up order from Revenue and Customs.”

United’s fate will be confirmed at the Conference’s board meeting which takes place tomorrow (Friday) at the Celtic Manor in Newport, starting 10.30am.

The Conference annual general meeting is being held on Saturday, starting at 11am.

Dear Hereford United Trust....

Please can we have the £1400 that was given to your trust by British Wheelchair Basketball as a grant, for Wheelchair Basketball at Point 4, under the Bulls name, that you did nothing with?

Hereford Harriers Wheelchair Basketball Club cannot get the grant from British Wheelchair basketball - BECAUSE YOU HAVE IT.

Pay up or get publicised - the members themselves paid for the sessions, not HUT!
