WINLESS Bromyard slipped into the relegation places in Division One of the Worcestershire County League after suffering their fourth defeat in six games, with two others abandoned, in a 56-run reverse at Hagley.

The Herefordshire side seemed to have done the hard part when they restricted their hosts to 132, with Edward Reece (3-20) and Ahmed Jamal (2-17) among the wickets.

But Bromyard were shot out for 76 with only Ian Bullock (16) and Ryan Tongue (10) getting into double-figures.

There was also a set-back for Colwall, who were beaten by three wickets at lowly Evesham.

Tom Coleman (32) was the principal contributor to Colwall's 126, but Evesham reached their target with three wickets in hand.

In Division Two, all-rounder Alex Hedges made a useful contribution to Burghill & Tillington's two-wicket win at Cookley.

Hedges (3-16) and Barney Morgan (3-23) helped to restrict the home side to 128 and he then produced the top-score of 39 as the villagers edged home.

Luke Jones (39 not out) top-scored with 39 for Wormelow but their 13-9 never looked to be enough as they were overhauled by Malvern with six wickets still in hand.

Harry King turned in a fine all-round display to steer Ross to a six-wicket win over Old Vigornians.

King's 3-28 helped to peg the Worcester side back to 151 and he then hit 67 as the south Herefordshire club moved up into mid-table.

Four wins in five matches have seen Canon Frome go joint top of Division Six, with their latest win a 197-run victory over Rushwick 3rd.
