A HARD-hitting innings of 83 by opener Chris Powell set Brockhampton on the way to victory in their Birmingham League Premier Division clash at Dorridge.

Powell battered eight fours and four sixes on his way to 83 as Brockhampton piled up 231-7 in their rain-shortened 35-over innings.

And his namesake Nick, was equally belligerent with five sixes and four fours in an unbeaten 56, with Joe Crichard chipping in with 47.

Valeed Butt (91) ensured that the home side kept the pressure on but Callum Stewart (4-33), Nick Powell (3-32) and Chris Boroughs (2-57) combined to dismiss the Warwickshire club for 164.

An excellent all-round performance by 15-year-old Shameer Ahmed helped Eastnor to a winning draw in a low-scoring Division Two game at home to Brewood.

Shameer (29 not out) helped Eastnor to rally from 49-8 in partnership with Arshad Hussain (34) to reach 119-9 from their 42 overs.

The youngster then collected (2-12) as, in partnership with Shahid Ahmed (3-17) and Jabran Khalid (2-29), he restricted the visitors to 104-9.
