ALL-ROUNDER Sam Crichard cracked a quick-fire 66 in the England Cricket Association for the Deaf’s 120-run win against the Paignton League XI in Devon.

Crichard, who plays his club cricket for Colwall, collected 10 fours and a six in his 50-ball innings which lifted England Deaf to 300 all out in the friendly match.

The 22-year-old opened the bowling in England Deaf’s 150-run defeat against Devon Lions, also at Paignton Cricket Club, and took 1-30 in his 10 overs of off-spin.

The Herefordshire lad has an exciting summer of cricket to look forward to, including fixtures against the MCC at the Nursery Pitch at Lord’s and the Duke of Norfolk's XI at Arundel.

He is scheduled to play against the Army Development XI at Aldershot next Wednesday (June 11) and play at Essex County Cricket Club’s Chelmsford ground in August.

He said: “We had a lot of training over the summer and our last training camp was at Malvern College a few weeks ago.

Crichard is in his fourth season with the England Deaf side and is coaching the Herefordshire Under-11 side this summer.
