BRIAN Weaver's three wickets were not enough for Marden as they succumbed to a 41-run defeat against Knighton-on-Teme in GB Liners Marches League Division Two.

Weaver finished on 3-40, while Gavin Pugh (2-28) and Pete Richards (2-48) also chipped in with wickets for the Herefordshire side.

But in the end, Knighton's total of 204 proved too much for Marden.

The Worcestershire side were largely helped by Matthew James and Mark Evans - who scored 67 and 42 respectively.

In reply, Sam Pratley (39), Adam Atkin (33) and Rupert Lawrence (31 not out) all posted useful runs for Marden, but in the end they proved immaterial as the villagers were skittled out for 163.

Elsewhere in the league, Luke Ledbury finished on an astonishing 198 not out as Ledbury thrashed Almeley by 135 runs.

Joshua Evans was the only other Ledbury player to reach double figures, but their total of 250-7 off 45 overs was still enough to secure the win.

Almeley were bowled out for 115, with Simon Ritchie (4-28) being the pick of Ledbury's bowlers.

Woolhope also secured a very comfortable win, with Jamie Rayfield's 65 helping them thrash Kington 2nd by 214 runs.

Kington 2nd were skittled out for just 59, with Ben Park finishing on 5-16, which included a four-wicket maiden over.

Shirebulls could only muster 23 in their match against Llandrindod Wells.

Chris Oleksy top scored with just six, with four of the Shirebulls' players failing to get off the mark.

Llandrindod earlier posted 129 and won the match by 106 runs.

Zac Stannard's knock of 66 saw Weobley beat Presteigne by seven wickets.

James Howard and Alun Howard also bagged two wickets each for the villagers.

In Division One, Chris Price scored 61 as Brockhampton 3rd beat Dales by 52 runs.

Jack Hatchett also posted 34 in Brockhampton's total of 181-9.

David Price's three wickets were then key to see Brockhampton home as Dales were bowled out for 129.

Andrew Brown felled agonisingly short of a century, but his 99 was still enough to see Goodrich secure a winning draw against Kington.

Crickhowell beat Hay-on-Wye by two wickets - Nick Francis ending unbeaten on 81.

Luctonians secured a winning draw against Builth Wells after posting 262-6 off their 45 overs.

In Division Three, Builth Wells beat Stollers by six wickets, Moccas came out on top against Glangrwyney in a 17-run win and Widemarsh Lads Club beat Goodrich 2nd by 20 runs.

George Abbey's 58 proved crucial for Bosbury as they beat Luctonians 3rd by 33 runs in Division Four, while Talgarth 2nd thrashed Ewyas Harold by 255 runs in Division Five.
