HEREFORDSHIRE can take a big step to progressing from the group stages of the Unicorns Trophy when they welcome Oxfordshire to Eastnor on Sunday.

The visitors have won all of their three games so far while Herefordshire have two wins from two matches - all sides play four group matches.

Heading the group will ensure a home tie when the knock-out stages of the competition begin next month.

Herefordshire will be waiting on the availability of Brad Wadlan, who has been invited to play for Sussex against Sri Lanka on Saturday.

Nitesh Patel will stand in should the all-rounder be unavailable.

The county selectors are also sweating on the availability of opening bowler Callum Stewart who may be required by Somerset.

Herefordshire, however, will have a strong side on the back of their two previous wins against Staffordshire and Berkshire.

Wicket-keeper Luke Padgett, who bats at number three for his club-side Bath, seems unlikely to be higher than eight or nine in the county batting line-up.

Herefordshire: Exall (capt), Gwynne, O'Shea, Wadlan or Patel, Walker, Stebbings, Ball, Padgett, Conway, McIlroy, Stewart or Rowe.
