A SIX-MONTH-old baby enjoyed his first taste of Hereford United on Easter Monday.
Oscar Burke is too young to understand the significance of the Bulls’ win against Alfreton, but his father Richard said his youngster had to be part of the day.
“It may have been our last chance to see Hereford United at Edgar Street in their current guise, so I thought I would take Oscar – at least I could then tell him that he went to a game,” said Richard.
Richard’s 10-year-old son Harry was a mascot on Monday after raising £200 in a jumble sale.
Supporter Adrian Herbert believes the Bulls can stay in the Skrill Premier.
“The players were excellent,” said Adrian, who will be travelling to Aldershot with dad Tony.
“Hopefully, we can do the same at Aldershot.”
The atmosphere at Edgar Street on Monday was electric at times, which Jill George believes, helped Hereford win the game.
“It was really exciting and I enjoyed the day,” said Jill.
“There was a lot of cheering and shouting – it makes a lot of difference.”
However, the worry for many Bulls supporters is if the club will still be in existence come the start of next season, even if it avoids relegation on Saturday.
“The financial situation of the club seems out of control, so the players could put all this effort in for nothing,” said Beth Searle, who travels to Hereford games from Pershore in Worcestershire.
“My heart says that the will stay up, but my head says something else.”
