SUPERSUB Scott Jackson sparked Westfields to three wins from three over Easter, coming off the bench to score crucial goals against Stourport Swifts and Shepshed Dynamo.

Sean Edwards’ men rounded off their treble triumph with 3-1 win over AFC Wulfrunians is a demanding holiday schedule that stretched Fields’ squad to their limits.

It was Jackson who hit the late winner in a dramatic 3-2 win over Dynamo on Easter Saturday which saw Westfields twice fall behind at home.

And then, two days later, the striker rose again; coming off the bench in a goal-less tie to inspire Fields to what would eventually be 3-0 a comfortable home victory over Stourport.

The weekend success started early for Sean Edwards who kicked off Fields’ three-game home stand with victory over Wulfrunians on Thursday night, ending their visitors’ eight-game unbeaten run.

In-form midfielder Jamie Cuss was the difference, netting twice – including a delicate chip shot over Wulf’s keeper to put his side 2-0 up – before Craig Jones killed the game off from the spot.

Westfields doubled-up two days later in front of a home crowd of 126, with Cuss again getting on the scoresheet.

Cuss was involved in Fields’ opener – winning the penalty which Jones converted to level the game, after a Steve Chaplin header had given the visitors the lead in the 20th minute.

The scored stayed level for just five minutes however with Shepshed catching Westfields cold with a free kick just before the break.

The home side responded with real spirit and quality; and Jones’ well-worked approach play finally paid off for Fields, as he linked well with Jackson to set-up Cuss, who hit home a fierce drive from 10 yards.

Sean Edwards pushed for the win – bringing teenager Luke Griffiths and Adam Bendall off the bench – before fellow sub Jackson completed the comeback, provided a low finish to a fine run by Joel Edwards.

The exhausting encounter took its toll on Westfields, who were unable to break down ninth-placed Stourport for the first 45 minutes.

But the second-half introduction of Jackson brought the game to life, with the substitute’s glancing header just after the break putting the home side ahead.

Skipper Phil Glover made it 2-0 from the spot before Saturday’s subs Bendall and Griffiths combined for Fields’ third, the teenager taking down a cross on his chest and volleying home to cap off a successful weekend for his side.
