SKIPPER Luke Graham has described Hereford United’s fans as ‘among the best'  for whom he has played.

“The supporters have been among the best set of fans I have ever played for – absolutely tremendous and I can’t image how they must be feeling,” said Graham.

“My message to them – I have taken the club to my heart and I feel it just as much as them.

“There are other people in the dressing room who are like that. There are a lot of players giving their all – and I hope the fans can see that.”

Graham spoke to the Hereford Times about his anguish after last night’s 1-0 defeat at Tamworth.

“If we are going to get out of it, we will need that bit of luck,” he said.

“We need that first goal at home to Alfreton and I am sure the fans will get behind us again. There is a week left of football at this club in the Conference as it stands and we will do everything we can to stay up and I know the fans will be right behind us.

“We will have to do something – I think the football has been better under Pete Beadle but, unfortunately, the results have not changed and that’s no slight on him.

“All we can do is get back on the training field on Easter Sunday, and put it right.”
