DEREK Williams’ Wellington could enhance county rivals Pegasus Juniors title chances this weekend.
Wellington face table-topping Lye Town this Saturday in the West Midlands League Premier Division.
Boss Williams said: “We will be trying our best. I get on really well for Chris Hyde at Pegasus – we used to take our teams to Holland.”
Williams was delighted that his side picked up an excellent win last weekend – securing a 4-3 away success at Wellington Amateurs.
Luke Winter, making his first start this season, was among the scorers as the game exploded into life in the second half.
Paul Jones put the visitors ahead from the penalty spot in the 40th minute after Winter had been brought down in the box.
The hosts hit back after the break to lead 2-1 but Josh Hunt level when he smashed the ball home after beating two players.
Jones pulled back the ball for winter to score before Matt Williams missed two good chances
Saul Thomas added Wellington’s fourth goal with a driven shot from six yards.
The home team pulled goal back before the final whistle.
Earlier, Thomas rattled a post and hit the crossbar in the opening stages.
Goalkeeper Craig Hill made a great save and Gareth Thomas cleared a ball off the line.
