OVER the last 17 years, there have been many ups and downs during my time at Edgar Street, but one thing has remained solid and that has been the passion Hereford United supporters have for their club.

This, over recent weeks, has been shown more than ever. The way that supporters have donated pound after pound, week in week out, to make sure their football club survives has been phenomenal.

The last two weeks have seen Hereford United supporters unite to hold various fundraising events, but it is not only Bulls supporters who have rallied to the club's cause.

The local community has come to the club’s aid and so have supporters from other clubs.

Up and down the country, supporters have answered the call for help - this response has also been overwhelming and, at the same time, very much appreciated.

It shows that people do care about their local football club and how important it is to the local community.

The city is going through one of its biggest transformation in recent years, with the impending opening of the Old Market retail centre and people want the football club to be part of the city's future.

All this is heart-warming to a group of people who continue to apply the same level of dedication and commitment day in day out.

We, the backroom staff, have continued with our daily tasks and carry on working above and beyond what is required to make sure that the jobs get done and the club continues to function normally when times are tough.

This appreciation is also felt by the players and directors and, like the supporters, we have joined together to make sure that there is a Hereford United for many more years to come.

We really do appreciate what has been done by various people and organisations to bring more income into the football club and to make sure that we have been able to support our families in these difficult times.

I think I can speak for everyone when I say that our families have been really supportive to us all and understand the difficulties that the club is facing. We thank them for their support and hopefully it won’t be long before the good times come back to Edgar Street.

To help bring these good times back to the club, we must all stick together and face each hurdle as it comes.

The season is fast coming to a close but the club will still be open during the summer months and it is during these months that support will be needed more than ever. The renewal of season tickets and advertising will soon start.

There are numerous functions taking place in either Radfords or the Starlite Room. It’s never too late to subscribe to the Back The Bulls Lottery or fans can simply visit www.herefordunited.co.uk and donate any amount that they can afford.

The income from all these avenues will help make sure that we are ready for a fresh start in July when the football resumes. Keep the faith and stay United! COYW.
