DAVID Evans from Whitchurch came out on top in a three-way battle at Foxley Autotests organised by Herefordshire Motor Club Ltd at Mansel Lacy.
Evans, from Whitchurch, has been competing in the event for 30 years and took the Motoquip Trophy in his Blitz Special.
Paul Fobister (Haigh Special) had led after four tests but wasovertaken by Malcolm Livingston (Lotus 7) on the next loop of four tests.
But an error by Livingston saw Evans move ahead by 23 seconds and extended his advantage by a further six seconds on the final loop of four tests.
Fobister was second, pipping Livingston by 2.6 seconds with the pair taking respective class D and C wins.
Four Herefordshire Motor Club drivers took part with Leominster’s Liam Rollings winning Class E in his Mini and finishing 15th overall.
Weobley's Chris Powell was second in Class E in a Corsa while Jim Lewis, double driving Powell’s Corsa, collected the Doug Moon Challenge Trophy for best HMC competitor.
The Seat Ibiza of Andrew Helme proved a handful in the wet conditions and the Wormelow driver finished 5th in class.
The organisers expressed their gratitude to the volunteers who marshalled the tests in the rain and to the landowners. Herefordshire Motor Club's next main event is the Welsh Marches Mini Epynt Stages on June 1.
