Yellow cards: Aldershot – Payne, foul, 48 min.

4:45pm

Betsy, the best player on the pitch, is replaced after 83 minutes but Woking still look dangerous and a cross from Rendell flashes through the six-yard box with no-one able to get a touch.

4:38pm

Bowen makes a fine run down the right and his cross picks out Rankine whose header is acrobatically tipped over by Beasant.

4:33pm

Woking continue to look the more likely scorers and only a fine diving save by Lloyd-Weston from Goddard prevents a third Cards goal.

4:27pm

Rankine gets in an on-target header on 66 minutes but it’s a regulation catch by Beasant.

4:15pm

Woking win a corner on 56 minutes. Nutter takes the kick and James makes the clearance.

4:10pm

Hereford bring on Rankine and Pilkington at half-time and go on the attack.
A foul on Bowen by Payne brings a booking and a free-kick on the edge of the area.
Although the ball is cleared, a fresh build-up works the ball to Rankine whose smart shot on the turn is saved by Beasant.

3:37pm

Woking score again on 35 minutes.
Betsy gets away on the left and drags the cross back for Adam Newton to easily side-foot home.

3:35pm

Hereford force their first corner on 33 minutes. Artus takes the kick but Graham’s header is blocked.

3:33pm

Lloyd-Weston saves brilliantly again when he flies through the air to tip a dipping shot from Payne over the bar.

3:31pm

Hereford reply with a Smith header which flashes wide of the target.

3:30pm

On 27 minutes, Kevin Betsy, who is a considerable threat on the Woking right, cuts in and drives in a shot which brings a fine diving save from Lloyd-Weston.

3:25pm

Hereford try to respond and, after a break by Walker down the left, Smith’s header from a Purdie cross is easily saved.

3:21pm

The first goal comes on 20 minutes when Lloyd-Weston slices his clearance only to Rendell who sidefoots into an empty net.

3:16pm

Rendell is then foiled by a brilliant save from Lloyd-Weston who comes out bravely to smother after the ball is allowed to run through to the former Luton striker.

3:07pm

The Cards stage a swift break away and Marriott is forced sufficiently wide by Graham for the on-loan striker to fire into the side-netting.

3:06pm

Woking win a corner in the third minute but Goddard’s cross is headed out by Luke Graham before Josh Payne shoots over.

3:04pm

Hereford make a lively start and Sam Smith has a header nodded off the line by Mark Ricketts before Kingsley James’ low shot is saved.

2:44pm

HEREFORD boss Peter Beadle recalls Danny Leadbitter to his side for the vital clash with Woking.
Chris Bush drops out, as does the injured Chris Sharp who is replaced by Dan Walker.
Michael Rankine has recovered sufficiently from his hamstring injury to be named on the bench.

This result was poor really. The first 2 goals were bad goals to concede.
The first one was a combination of faults but overall failure of discipline and decision making.
A high line with no central defensive pace against a team that likes to play with power and pace and is capable of clever through balls. A tactical black mark there Mr Beadle. Keep it deep and have a holding midfielder shurely?
The defense looked like they'd forgotten how to play together. They went from well-drilled last week to playing like children this week.
That led to the second goal. Collins and Purdie didn't communicate and Walker didn't track back.

I did like Leadbitter at right back, but not Purdie at left back.
Generally they seemed to have the right attitude though and the result, while fair was not a bad reflection on the team.
Some good passing and moving at times and some good use of the whole of the pitch.

Sort out the discipline at the back please Mr Beadle.
I know this is controversial but play Frankie Artus as a no 10 in the Maradona/Rooney position please.
Mr One trick pony Walker flying up the left and cutting inside and Mr several tricks pony Bowen up the right flank.

I'd pay to watch that.. In fact I'd pay to watch any old rubbish, but I'd prefer that.
