HEINEKEN are donating £10,000 towards Hereford United’s bid to avert a winding-up order.
Heineken are making the pledge after responding to appeals from employees who support United.
Twitter was awash with the news last night after it was revealed in a post on United fans’ website Bulls Banter.
United's fans will be delighted with the donation and it is a timely boost ahead of the vital home match tomorrow (Saturday) against Woking.
Cash-strapped United are fighting to raise £78,000 to stave off a winding-up petition from Revenue and Customs (HMRC) being brought before the court on Monday.
Heineken are one of the biggest employers in Hereford and owns the city’s HP Bulmer Plant.
