BARTESTREE are sure of third place in Division One of the West Midlands League after a 1-1 draw at Haughmond.

The villagers are currently second but have completed their fixtures while their Shropshire hosts, who trail by just a point, still have five games to play.

"How we did not get three points is hard to be believe but we need to take our chances," said Bartestree manager Dave Cadwallader.

"Third place is where we probably deserve to be, as we have let ourselves down in games and not been consistent."

Dan Hill and Darren Andrews set up Ian Smith for the opening goal early in the second period.

But Haughmond's long-ball game brought an equaliser 10 minutes from the end.

Even then, Bartestree had a great chance to win the match but Kiea Cowley chose to pass rather than shoot and the ball was cut out.

Ledbury Town were beaten 3-2 at home by sixth-placed Wyrley.

Nathaniel Hare and Stefan Gordon gave Wyrley a two-goal lead before Jamie Welch pulled one back.

Paul Yeomans extended the advantage again and, although Dan Herbert headed a second for Ledbury, it was not enough.
