HEREFORD United will be hoping that the curse of the manager of the month award will afflict Woking boss Gary Hill on Saturday.

Hill brings his Cards team to Edgar Street on the back of an excellent run which has seen them transformed from relegation prospects to mid-table.

Ex-Bulls manager Martin Foyle masterminded a similar run for Hereford in January to win that month's award but the Bulls have not won since in a disastrous slide which has taken them to the edge of the drop zone and cost Foyle his job.

Were it not for two late Luton goals at Dartford on Tuesday night, United would be looking up from the relegation places when they run out on Saturday.

Goalscoring remains a key problem for caretaker boss Peter Beadle who will be hoping that striker Michael Rankine will be fit to return after a hamstring injury to boost the frontline.

United have scored just three goals in their last 11 matches, two of which have come from centre-backs.
