Ross 0 pts Bredon Star 16

TWO late scores consigned Ross to defeat against Gloucester 2 promotion hopefuls Bredon Star.

In the first period, the Ross tight five were solid at scrum and lineout time and fine back-row defence gave Bredon little opportunity.

Bredon were similarly solid and neither side had troubled the scorers at the interval.

The second period began in similar style but Bredon were able to convert two kickable penalties to earn a narrow lead.

With Ross requiring a converted try, the home side inched towards the line but Bredon turned over possession and, with five minutes remaining, they broke out to score in the corner.

Another try, almost on time, confirmed their win.

Josh Morgan was named the Ross man of the match.

In Midlands Four West (North), it was a disappointing day for Greyhound who failed to improved their position near the foot of the table after going down 29-3 at home to high-flying Clee Hill.

Bromyard are up to sixth in the table after a 12-5 win at relegated St Leonards.

In Midlands Three West (South), Ledbury's fading hopes of a promotion place were virtually extinguished after a 41-7 reverse at second-placed Old Yardleians.
