Miller Boys win title despite last-day reverse

DEFEAT in their final game failed to stop Miller Boys winning the Hereford Snooker & Billiards League Division 1 title.

The new champions were beaten by Broms Boys who turned in a gutsy performance to gain the win which helped them to avoid relegation.

Rob Black took the first frame by a narrow two-point margin, Allen Rea secured the second frame and Dave Hantschar made sure of the win with a commanding performance against Rob Sheffield.

Miller Boys battled on with Stuart Donald sinking the black to win his frame before the final frame saw Stuart Roberts construct an impressive break of 77 to beat Andy Bromage and ultimately winning the championship for his team.

Zeds ended their season as runners-up with a 4-1 win over Pot Idols which pushed their opponents into a relegation play-off.

Military B narrowly missed out on runners-up spot despite a 4-1 win over Police A, with Jerry Gough a clear winner in the final frame.

Legionares kept their chance of Division 1 survival alive with an outstanding 4-1 win over the X-Men to earn the play-off with the Pot Idols and confirm X-Men's relegation.

In a mid-table clash, Flukey Few ran out clear 4-1 winners over Corner Pockets.

In Division 2, Q4 Carlton showed their competitive streak with a 4-1 win over P Shed Y which ended the Ys' chance of promotion.

Ben Fortey, Matt Oldham and Mitch Hughes all won their frames on the black ball.

Shed Loads join Q4 Carlton in Division 1 next season after a commanding 4-1 win over Snooker Centre earned them runners-up spot.

NoWhereMen edged a narrow 3-2 win over Farmers B, Neil Webb securing the win for the home side.
