Bromage's good impression since joining from Greyhound

FORMER Greyhound star Dave Bromage has made a good impression since signing for Ledbury.

Bromage is among a host of young players who are playing in the first team at the Ross Road outfit.

Kieram Hallam said: “I got injured and Dave came across after doing some coaching at the club’s and it’s been very positive.

“He’s a top lad and has fitted in very well and he’s still learning our plays. But we would like to attract more classy players – particularly lads from Herefordshire.”

Ledbury’s chairman of senior rugby, Steve Burgess, said: “Dave Bromage is a good trainer and is a regular with us and plays as much as he can.

“He has a lot of promise for the future. He’s still only a young lad as are most of the players.

“We haven’t got a huge amount of experience at this level but that will come.

“You learn more from a disappointing defeat than from a couple of good wins.”

Burgess believes the future looks bright for Ledbury.

“In the front-row, Brad Smith has come through the system and has established himself as first-team prop.

“In the second-row, Steve Humphreys is doing really well, Greg Jones has really come to the fore this season and Elliot Bee has joined as a forwards coach and has made a difference.”

Hallam is keen for Ledbury’s young players to draw a line under Saturday’s second-half horror show against Old Wheatleyans.

“In the second half, it was definitely our worst performance of the season. It was really disappointing because it was such an important game but we have to reflect on it and then move on.”
