LORD Windermere, the horse which won Friday’s Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup, was sold by Leominster-based Brightwells auctioneers and valuers.
Lord Windermere was one of six horses sold by Brightwells that went to score at the home of jump racing last week.
Mark Blandford’s charge Next Sensation finished fourth in the Johnny Henderson Grand Annual Chase which was won by another Brightwells-sold horse, Savello.
O’Faolains Boy, Western Warhorse, Tiger Roll and Holywell also triumphed in the festival, with One His Own, Josses Hill and Ballyalton all taking second places.
Brightwells also held an inaugural Cheltenham Festival sale – no sale had previously taken place during the famous four-day showpiece.
Another Brightwells graduate, Goulanes, ridden by Richard Johnson, won the Betfred Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter on Saturday.
