WOOLHOPE Tennis Club are enjoying a successful winter season, despite the lengthy spell of wet weather.
In the Hereford and Worcester Winter Leagues, Woolhope Ladies A have won all five of their matches to head their division and give themselves a real chance of promotion.
The Mixed ‘A’ team also top of their division but still have matches to play while Woolhope Ladies B are second and the Men’s A team third in their respective divisions.
Woolhope Ladies C and the Mixed B team both have a number of matches to play.
The club, although relatively small in size, is very active and has a thriving social tennis section.
"Throughout the year, in-house league competitions are organised which give members the opportunity to play with a variety of people in a more social context," said the club's Sally Dunkley.
"The club also offers junior coaching in the summer term and, as well as its club night every Wednesday, has a very popular seniors' session on a Thursday morning.
"Despite the appalling weather, no Thursday sessions have been cancelled although the coffee break may have been a little longer on occasions."
