COLWALL cricketer Sam Crichard is Herefordshire Sport's disabled sports achiever of the year.

Crichard, who has a hearing deficiency, toured South Africa with the unbeaten ECB Deaf Xl.

International goalball player Laura Perry, who studies at Hereford's Royal National College, is highly commended in this category.

Club of the year are Ross Juniors FC who, since their formation in 2004 have grown to now included 400 members in their junior section.

They have five girls' teams, two men's teams and a veteran's team.

Hereford Dynamix Trampoline Club, who were established in 2010, have been highly commended in this category, have 40 members competing at regional level and two in national competition circuits.

Another relatively newly formed club, the Hereford Roller Girls, have been named senior team of the year.

The club was formed in 2011 and started competing last year.

By the end of the year, they were in the top half of the 300 teams in the European Roller Derby rankings.

Ross Rowing Club's J14 coxed quad have been named as junior team of the year after an outstanding season of achievement which inclueded winning gold in their class at the British Rowing Championships where they twice broke the national record.

Primary School of the Year is Madley where they have a huge range of sporting opportunities, many linked to sports clubs in the county.
