Who is your sporting hero?

As a runner, I looked up to Paula Radcliffe, Mo Farah and Jessica Ennis. Then, when I got into cycling, Victoria Pendleton, Joana Rowsell, Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish.

Who was your sporting mentor?

Dan Hunt was there for me if I needed to ring him about any worries I had or just for some peace of mind. This year, the role model and person I can talk to if I need any help is Dani King - she has given me a lot of advice and encouragement.

What is your best sporting moment?

Winning the National Time Trial Circuit Champs.

What is your worst sporting moment?

When I found out that my dream of becoming a full time running athlete was at an end. However, cycling opened up a new dream.

Do you have any sporting ambitions?

To compete in the Olympics for my country both on the track and on the road.

What was the last trophy you won?

The RTTC National Championships in Dorset in August 2013.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

Dan Hunt told me: “Always stay in top 10 in the bunch. Sharpen the elbows and keep two wheels touching the ground.”

What’s the best piece of advice you can give to a youngster?

Enjoy what you are doing and don't take it too seriously at a young age, as you have time to be serious about it in later life.

Do you have any sporting superstitions?

I have rituals that I do the night before. I get home from college, soak in the bath, foam roller and stretch and then put on my compression tights. I also have two lucky ducks that are sat on the side of my room that I kiss the night before.

What one possession would you save if your house was burning down?

My laptop. If I am not riding my bike I am on my laptop doing college work and listening to music.

What five people would you invite around for a dinner party and why?

Marianne Vos is a world-class cyclist that has impacted on my cycling; Tom Daley has had to face many challenges from a young age and is an inspiration to all young athletes; Sarah Millican is one of my all-time comediennes; Jason Statham has made some amazing films and I would like to learn a trick or two off him; Clean Bandit are my all-time favourite and I am addicted to listening to their new song Rather Be.

Do you have any hobbies outside your chosen sport?

Going for walks on the local hills with the dogs and my amazingly supportive boyfriend Josh Burke, baking and spending time with my twin sister and the horses.
