A strong finish from Westside earned them a vital point from a 57-31 reverse against a strong Midrange team in the West Midlands Netball League Division Two. The starting line up of Georgi Wood GS, Harriet Rimmer GA, Anna Mulderring WA, Rebecca Griffin C, Kate Bishop WD, Kayleigh Mumford GD and Steph Snowzell GK got off to a decent start and matched Midrange goal for goal until some fast attacking by their opponents saw them lead 15-9 at quarter-time.

During the second quarter Midrange started to dominate defensively and their shooters were sinking shots from all over the circle, despite efforts from Mumford and Snowzell to keep their player as far out as possible.

Westside worked the ball well through court thanks to good work from Bishop, Griffin and Mulderrig but Midrange led 32-13 at half time.

Mulderrig and Rimmer switched bibs at the interval in a bid to increase the movement in Westside's attacking circle and the third quarter started well but Midrange's shooter missed just one shot in the quarter as her side pulled away still further to 46-19 at three-quarter time.

But then excellent holding play from Rimmer saw balls coming in to the shooters as Wood and player-of-the-match Mulderrig kept the ball moving fast as the city side won the last quarter 12-11.

"If we can now start to maintain our level of play as we did in the last quarter we've got a real chance of getting some wins under our belt as the season draws to an end," said captain Snowzell.
