FORMER Hereford United goalkeeper Dan Connor has landed a full-time coaching job at FA Cup holders Wigan Athletic.
The popular Irishman is starting his new coaching job at Wigan tomorrow (Thursday).
He will be looking after the Wigan goalkeepers from club’s under-21 to the under-8 teams.
“I had a phonecall out of the blue from the human resources department at Wigan asking me if I could come up to see them about an opportunity at the club,” said Connor.
And, at end of the interview, Connor was offered the role of heading up the club's academy goalkeepers set-up.
“It has been a difficult 12 months for me and I am thrilled – it’s a fantastic job. I want to thank Westfields and Shrewsbury Town.”
Connor, who has been coaching at Westfields and Shrewsbury Town, says he and his family will continue to live in Hereford.
