Ledbury 22 pts Cheltenham North 23
LEDBURY were left frustrated when a Cheltenham conversion from the last kick of the match condemned them to a single-point Midlands Three West (South) defeat.
The Ross Road side have been beaten only twice on home territory this season, by just a point on each occasion.
On a heavy pitch, Cheltenham struck the first blow with a drop-goal, followed by an unconverted try after 15 minutes.
Ledbury began to find some momentum and Tom Tregaskes capitalised on good work by Ali Park to cross under the posts. George Bennion converted.
Immediately after the break, Cheltenham picked up a loose ball to score in the corner but Bennion cut the margin back to one point with a try before Cheltenham kicked a penalty to lead 16-12.
Skipper Jock Welch went over for a try following a well-organised line-out drive and when winger Ali Martin also went over on 61 minutes Ledbury seemed in control.
But Bennion's conversion fell just short and this ultimately proved costly.
