HEREFORDSHIRE sides suffered a disappointing weekend in the West Midlands League with just two draws from the five games which took place.

In the Premier Division, it was an afternoon to forget for both of the sides in action.

Wellington travelled to Bilston Town and were beaten 3-0.

And it was even worse for Bromyard who went to in-form Sporting Khalsa and were on the wrong end of an 8-0 scoreline.

Performance of the day in Division One came from Ledbury Town, who rallied from a 4-0 half-time deficit at Mahal to gain a point from a 4-4 draw.

Jamie Welch, Dan Herbert, Dean Corbett and Curt Williams were on target for the New Street side.

Bartestree also picked up a point to keep their promotion challenge moving, travelling to Wyrley and bringing a point back to the county from a 3-3 draw.

It was not an afternoon that Lads Club will care to remember, however, after crashing to a 6-1 reverse at Wem Town.

In the Herefordshire League Premier Division, the north county derby went the way of Leominster Town who collected the three points from their trip to Shobdon with a 4-2 victory.

The win takes Leominster into second place, ahead of their third-placed opponents.

Bartestree Reserves remain rooted to the foot of the table after going down 2-1 at home to mid-table Kington Town.
