Injuries a Big Problem This Season

One of the main reasons in Luctonians recent poor run of results has been the extensive injury list that the side have had to deal with. With two or three of the more experience players in the side missing captain Jimmy Norris believes that keeping the squad fit for the rest of the season is imperative.

“Losing the experienced players certainly doesn’t help, but any playing missing for us is a big blow because we are such a small club. With the geography of Luctonians, attracting the quality of player we need is always going to be a challenge so keeping all of our players fit is vital for us for the rest of the season”.

Two of the more experienced players missing from the side long term are Chris Jaques and Director of Rugby, Alex Davidson, who gave us an update on the injuries.

“Historically, I’ve always had a bad right shoulder, had a couple of rebuilds over the years and I’ve now got another referral back to the original surgeon so hopefully we can sort something out as pain and strength wise we are still not there. Chris has got an operation this week to have the pins and screws removed from his leg, so I guess it’s just a question of how strong it’s been left and what the physio is like to get him playing. It’s been rumoured that he is looking to come back for a run out in March so we will keep our fingers crossed for that”.
