HEREFORD'S Wayne Lock was the star of the show when Ledbury Amateur Boxing Club Hereford Lions Club staged a successful boxing evening at Hereford Shire Hall.

Lock was one of four county boxers, representing Ledbury ABC, to star on the programme.

Lock won by a unanimous decision and picked up the best boxer of the night award and the best Ledbury boxer.

"He shows a lot of skill and determination," said coach Fred Florence.

"I will put Wayne against any body in the world that wants to box him.

"He will be entering the open class championship in February.".

Luke Cullwick from Leominster won by a majority decision against Mohammed Husain.

And Kevin Florence gained a repeat victory over Sam Mann from Factory ABC.

The fighters had met before in 2013 but, on this occasion, Mann was disqualified in the second round after a couple of low blows.

Dinars Ziraks took on Daniel Edge from Shrewsbury and Severnside ABC in his first ever bout and lost by a majority decision against a fighter with seven fights' experience.

"I was very happy with his performance," said coach Fred Florence. "He showed a lot of skill in the first and second rounds but ran out of energy in the second round causing him just to survive the third round.

"He has got to get out and pound that road to get his fitness up ready for the rematch.

"We would like to thank everybody that supported us that evening, especially Malcolm Sutherland, the Ledbury ABC sponsor."
