Hereford United Independent Supporters Association chairman Keith Dodd gives his View from Edgar Street

IN these difficult times we must all remain positive and stop the negativity which can break out around Edgar Street.
I was once again on my soapbox on the HUISA coach to Hornchurch last Saturday, encouraging fans to be positive about the football club we all love.
It was great to come away with a victory only to find on Sunday that we had been drawn away again at Burton Albion.
So now we will need as many fans as possible to travel to Burton and support the club again.
This now means that Edgar Street may not see a home Saturday match from October 19 until Saturday, December 7 - or perhaps even beyond.
That’s great planning by the Conference - where do they expect clubs to get their cash flow from?
During that spell, we only have one Tuesday night fixture - against Chester on Tuesday, November 12.
While in Hornchurch on Saturday, I had an excellent meeting with the London Bulls, who emphasised how important it is to stop the negativity from so-called supporters.
They also stated that they were very disappointed with the timing of the ACV request from Trust and, like me, felt that this will not help in the planned redevelopment of the ground.
They also have many members who plan to buy shares in the club.
HUISA have also purchased another large amount of shares and plan to purchase more.
Also all of the HUISA committee and many members have done the same.
We fully support the share issue and encourage all fans to do the same, whether it be large or small amounts.
It was also great on Saturday to see the chairman and all of the directors who were able to travel visit the Windmill Pub before the game to talk to all the fans.
We do have a lot of good people connected with this football club from the chairman of the board down.
So let’s all be positive from now on because social media is read all over the world - I hope particularly that some of the supporters on the fans’ forum will take this on board and either put up or shut up, or at least become proper fans of the football club.
It is encouragement that we want and not criticism all the time if we are to regain our Football League status.
From the club and fans’ point of view, it’s fantastic to see the success of the Starlite Rooms and Addison’s Bar.
We have almost sold out a number of functions and the Christmas parties are filling up fast - long may it continue.
Essentially, this has revived the club.
Please support the functions there when you can and also please support HUISA who have once again increased membership this season.
