Ledbury Town 3 Penncroft 3.

TOM Boyle struck a late equaliser as Ledbury claimed a deserved point in West Midlands League Division One.

Dan Herbert had put Ledbury in front, following up to score on 10 minutes after his initial effort came back off a post.

Neil Gardiner extended the lead shortly afterwards when his superb strike was helped into the net by the Penncroft keeper.

A couple of fine saves from goalkeeper Nicholas Blakeway kept Town ahead but the stopper was powerless on 32 minutes when Curtis Smith shot home following a corner.

And, five minutes before the break, Town were pegged back to level terms when Ben Lycett smashed the ball into the net after a fine cross from the flank.

With heavy rain making the pitch difficult, conditions were becoming hazardous but that did not stop Jake Lloyd from firing in a screamer to put the visitors ahead for the first time.

Boyle was denied a penalty after seemingly being pushed over in the area and Ledbury’s task became evern more difficult when Jamie Welch’s challenge on the Penncroft keeper was deemed worthy of a second yellow card.

Boyle’s shot from a difficult angle found the net.
