TWO young Herefordshire tennis players have been showing off their skills at an LTA national talent identification ID day at Bolton Arena.
Twelve-year-old Alicia Williams and Alex Parker, 14, from Ross-on-Wye had the chance to demonstrate their ability in front of the LTA talent ID team who were aiming to spot future performance players.
“I wanted to do better than the last time I came to a Talent ID as the point of them is you keep on improving with each one,” said John Kyrle High School pupil Alex.
“I had a good time and with a few ITF competitions coming up next month it was a good way to prepare as it was training alongside the best young players in the country.”
Alicia, from Shobdon, said: “Before this I had only been to one talent day so it was great to come along and see how well I had improved since then.
“I noticed that I was more confident at the drills and hopefully made a lasting impression on the coaches. Serving is my strong point and I enjoyed that drill best of all as I wanted to show off my big serve.”
