NEW Ledbury Town chairman Colin Brandt has swapped rugby for football. Brandt works for Universal Beverages and has been involved in the football club for about eight years. “I never played football but I played rugby for Ledbury and I have changed sports,” he said. “Andy Kibble gave the club plenty of notice he was stepping down as chairman after two years and it was a nice honour for me to be asked by the committee. I was happy to take on the role. We have formed a new committee and got lots of new ideas.” Brandt is being backed by new vice-chairman Steve Watkins and Town are planning to produce a club calendar which will be available in time for Christmas. “The photographs will be tasteful and we have someone to print them so, hopefully, it should create interest and raise money for the club.” Town have just appointed the experienced Paul Mann, 49, as the new manager of Town. Brandt added: “We have stepped up from Division Two and it would be nice to be in contention at the top of Division One at the end of the season.”
