Hereford's Guy Thompson scores his first Premiership try for London Wasps against Worcester Warriors

HEREFORD’S Guy Thompson says it was a great feeling to score his first Aviva Premiership try for London Wasps.
Thompson crossed the whitewash for Wasps’ fourth try in Saturday’s 32-16 home win over struggling Worcester Warriors.
“It was a great feeling more so because we were pushing for a bonus-point try,” said the 26-year-old.
“It was even more special because my mum Rosemarie was there.”
Thompson joined the fray as a 54th-minute replacement and crashed over just 14 minutes later in the match at Adams Park.
“Worcester were my first club – I was on the emerging players’ programme there when I was at Bromsgrove School.
“But it doesn’t really matter who the opposition were – it was important for the team.”
Thompson, who was born in Hereford and grew up in Bartestree, signed a two-year deal in the summer with Wasps. The ex-Bishop’s School pupil was coached as a youngster by Steve Bradley and played for Hereford Rugby Club three years ago.
He has been involved in three out of Wasps’ opening four matches. “We have got a run of tough games coming up, starting with Saracens this weekend,” he added.
