Wellington 7 Bilston Town 2.
BIRTHDAY-boy Joe Lemar celebrated in style with four goals as Wellington marked boss Derek Williams’ first home-game back in charge with a crushing West Midlands League Premier Division win.
Twenty-one-year-old Lemar was twice on target from the penalty spot and added two more from open play to round off a memorable day.
Saul Thomas side-footed home a Paul Jones through ball after just six minutes but Bilston quickly hit back to take the lead with two goals in a 10-minute spell.
Aaron Morgan ran on to Dean Price’s pass but was brought down to allow Lemar to convert from the spot.
And Thomas was then the provider for Morgan to fire the villagers in front just before the break. Man-of-the-match Lemar extended the lead early in the second period and completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot after Jones was brought down.
Sam Archer-Plane and Jones set up Lemar for his fourth with Morgan rounding off the scoring with a 20-yard shot in the closing stages.
Pegasus Juniors, meanwhile, have been knocked off top spot in the table after dropping a couple of home points in a 2-2 draw with Wellington Amateurs at Old School Lane.
Cory Hyde and Anthony Robbins scored for Juniors but the Hereford side slip to second pace behind Black Country Rangers, who beat Shifnal 5-0 to extend their perfect start into a 10th game.
Meanwhile, Bromyard Town remain 10th in the table despite being held to a 1-1 home draw by Shawbury United.
